Tulip panels

I decided to construct this piece panel by panel. This technique is detailed by Pauline Burbridge 9ref. Quilt Studio, ISBN 0-8442-2082-5. I like this technique because the focus is on composition as the piece comes together. I have created a couple of dozen modules in various states of donenes. Some don't hold up all that well, others belong in a different assemblage. I picked the ones that do it for this piece. There will be a total of 12 panels. Today, I plan to quilt them. Tomorrow they get sewn together. Here are a couple of process shots.

I love the colour meld.

This looks powerfully rich and dramatic, and I love the seemingly incongruous elements.
